Four weeks without sun.

Winter, 2025. It had been grey every day for a month.

I was in a bad mood. I didn't want to make anything.

Then I saw the hoop, and I thought about the people who play this game for a living. How many hours they put in on days exactly like this one. Nobody practises only when the light is good.

I took one frame. Just to hold the thought.

I look at it now and I see the whole argument. If you want to be good at something, you do it on the grey days too.

There is no warehouse of these, and no box of unsold copies. Yours is produced after you buy it. That is why it takes a little longer than something pulled off a shelf, and why nothing is wasted.

A semi gloss paper with enough texture to hold fine detail and enough sheen to keep the darker tones deep. Museum quality, which for a photograph mostly means it looks like the picture rather than an approximation of it.

Before you buy.

01Which size should I choose?

Measure the wall first. As a rough guide, the smallest size suits shelves, alcoves and smaller wall spaces, the middle sizes work above a desk, a console table, a sofa or a bed, and the largest is a statement piece for a big wall. Every size is listed above in inches and centimetres.

02Does it come with a frame?

No. It is the print only, ready for your own frame or display style. If you want a white border around the print, order the frame one size up and use a card mount.

03What is it printed on?

Premium Luster semi gloss paper, printed with premium inks. Semi gloss holds fine detail without the glare you get from a full gloss finish, which matters when the print is behind glass.

04Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, with free delivery on every order, wherever you are. Prints are produced at the facility closest to your address where possible, so the parcel travels a shorter distance.

05How long will it take to arrive?

Every print is made after you order it, so it takes longer than something sitting in a warehouse. Production starts as soon as your order comes through, and delivery time depends on where you are in the world.

06What if it arrives damaged?

Prints are packed in protective kraft packaging to survive the journey. If yours turns up damaged, email me a photo as soon as you can at contact@mitchellucas.com and I will take a look.

07Is this a limited edition?

No, and I would rather say so plainly. It is an open edition, printed individually whenever someone orders one. Nothing is numbered, nothing is artificially scarce, and the price is the price.
